Hook Em Horns

Well, we aren't teaching our son to say "OU sucks!" but we did let him get up early
from his nap to celebrate in the excitement of today's big win!
He spent the day dressed as Colt McCoy and repeating whatever Jeff was yelling at the TV!
"Let's Go" "Come on Defense!" "Oh man!" "Hold em"
Mommy loves how much he likes to act like daddy! It's just precious!

Hook Em Horns! (He's still working on the hand sign!)

Even mommy has a jersey!

Just watching the game!
He's learning how to "show me his teeth" for a better smile and this is the face I get... love it!

Hook Em Horns! Trying to show me this sign on his own!

Oh, and I must add... tonight he will be cheering for the Pokes! Gotta support Uncle Mike!
Maybe we'll have two big upsets that go our way in this house today!
His jacket that he got from his uncle!

Logan Turned TWO!

Logan truly enjoyed his whole birthday week... from the small family celebration the night of his birthday at Sweet Tomatoes to the great party we had at the house on the Saturday following. He LOVED when people sang the birthday song to him and he always wanted to do the singing and candle blowing-out over and over again! The picture above was a "second run" of it all!
Here's a pic of the first one

With Grandma and Grandpa at his favorite restaurant.
I just love those mini little ice cream cones... just his size!

Playing with his Grandpa... with the new matchbox airplanes they got him. So fun!

AND THEN CAME THE PARTY DAY!
He just HAD to have an Elmo cake. Whenever we would ask him what he wanted for his birthday (starting like a month before) he would say he wanted an "elmo cake" We still don't have any idea where he got that idea from, but I went with it and he was in heaven!
His new picnic table from mommy and daddy
Playing on the deck... behind him you can see the new storage tub we got him to hold all of his outside toys... makes cleaning up a lot easier and now our backyard appears much neater.

And the present opening begins!
His new magnadoodle from Alyssa, Rick and Jordan. This is his new favorite car toy and we know it will come in handy on the plane trip to NY this week! Thanks to the Cartwrights!
He got an easel from the Guidarellis in New York... we're gonna have lots of fun painting and coloring and maybe he'll even become a little artist. He already LOVES the chalkboard side, but mommy hasn't done the whole paint thing yet...
But when mommy's ready, we'll be prepared! Grana and Papa loaded us up on paint, the paint cups and the brushes! This is gonna be a great fall/winter activity for our days inside!
Oh yea! Elmo movies... we had never watched one before and now he has two!
Gotta love Elmo's World!
Stopping for a pose with Uncle Mike. He got Logan some great Oklahoma State things and the best shoes ever... little Pumas! Big hit at the party!
Opening up Aunt Rachel's present was very exciting because it was such a big box...
And he was already playing before Grandpa could even get the net put on!
He loves basketball and this is a great new deck toy!
Logan loves to cook and although daddy wouldn't let us get a kitchen set (he thinks they're too girly) Grana was able to find something a little less feminine! A microwave with plates, plasticware and some fake food. Oh how he loves it!
And this is how he plays with it... laying down watching the food turn as it "cooks"
So precious!
Oh, and notice in this picture the different shoes on his feet... one foot we were trying on the new Elmo sneakers from Grandma and the other is the Puma from Uncle Mike!
He walked around like this for quite some time :-)
A new puppy dog!
Not a real one, but just like the Gary's family dog Spencer.
Thanks to Jeannie and Bob... we named this new furry friend Spencer too!
Mommy was very happy when he opened gifts like this one... CLOTHES! Logan was already looking on to the rest of the unopened gifts, but we are very thankful for all the fall/winter clothing he now has!
Oh my goodness... a set of drums just his size! And yes, they sound like real drums too!
Look how excited Grandma is to be giving this gift... her face says it all!
And it didn't take him long to get going! We got some great shots of this.
Oh, and now when he wakes up from a nap and you ask him what he dreamed about,
he says,"I play the drums"
Do we have a musician on our hands?

Logan loves lollipops and this big tootsie roll one lasted him about 1 hour during the party!
Playing with the new magnet puzzles from Andrea and Ben... and still with the lolli!

Trying out his new train set. He had only every played with one at the Children's Museum, but he loves it so much there that we decided to get him going with the starter set. Good idea too, because he plays with it every day!

CAKE TIME!
diggin in!

and then he wanted a cupcake... they had the little Elmo candy pieces on them... pure sugar!

Later that night we ordered pizza (Logan's favorite) for dinner. We sat the "kids" together!
Aren't they cute?

Family photo... missing both Papas this weekend!
I think Logan was busy playing... or eating, but Dylan made the picture!

We can't believe our little man is two! These two years have been the best of my life and I am so excited about what the future holds for this precious little boy! Thanks to all that made his day so special... we are a very blessed family and we appreciate each and every one of you!

Logan Sings his ABCs

Here is a video of Logan singing his alphabet. I've been trying to get this on video forever and now that I do, he sings it over and over again! I love it!

Hurricane Ike... A Week Away From Home!

Well, hurricane Ike came and went and we had little suffering, especially in comparison to the stories we have heard since we've been back. Before the storm hit, we were very blessed to have friends calling to see what our plans were and offering us places to get away to. We decided Friday morning that we would head to McKinney and visit Alyssa, Rick and Jordan. We planned to stay for a long weekend and without power back home, that quickly turned into 5 nights. We are so grateful to them for all they did to make us feel at home during our stay and we know that the boys really enjoyed themselves.

One evening we went to Kate and Ryan's house for dinner and our three kiddos had a good time playing together. This is what happens when little boys play at a little girl's house!

Logan and Jordan go "sweepy" on the ottoman.
Jordan and Alyssa coloring. I just love when he smiles like that!

Ring around a rosie, pocket full of posies....
Ashes, ashes, we all fall down! (and Jordan runs away!)
They did this over and over and over and over again! It was great fun!

We had another FIRST on this trip... we went to Chuck E Cheese!
We all went together and Uncle Mike met us there, so it was lots of fun.

Driving the tractor with Bob the Builder...
Learning how to play skee-ball...
This was hilarious... there wasn't immediate gratification, so he quit pretty quickly!
Learning all about how the tickets worked... then he just wanted to play a game so that he could tear tickets off the machine. Very fun to watch him take it all in!
Playing basketball with Uncle Mike looking on... I love how he's acting it all out behind him!
He loved playing the big games with Uncle Mike!

Logan wasn't scared at all of The Big Giant Mouse... he actually wanted to go dance by the stage!

Our visit in McKinney was wonderful! On our way to our next destination (as we still didn't have power) we decided to stop by Uncle Mike's work on our way through Dallas. Logan put on quite a show for the people Mike worked with and really enjoyed "playing" with all the office things!

We stayed the last two nights away from home visiting Tommy and Debra (Grana and Papa) in Granbury... but by this time I was so ready to get home that I didn't even remember to take out my camera. Jeff and I came home Friday and arrived here ten minutes after the power was restored! What a blessing! We did leave Logan in Granbury and that ended up being such a blessing as getting our house and yard back together was a lot of work. We are very blessed to have had such great friends and family that made our week away from home much more comfortable! I'm sure Logan just thought it was a nice, long vacation, but we were all very happy to be home together on Sunday night!
