Houston Children's Museum with the Martins

We took another trip to the Children's Museum and this time invited the Martins along... free passes courtesy of my friend Natalie who is a member down there (thanks so much Nat!). Of course, Logan loved it just as he did last time, though this time there was a whole section that we must have missed last time we were there. He was very happy to have been with a buddy this time, though the place was VERY crowded!

Check out the pics and read about the day our boys had together.

Getting some gas
Logan has a thing about the gas station. When we stop to get gas, he likes to make sure he knows what number pump we are at and always says, "Next time we can go to # (enter any number here)." Quite the planner!
Well, when he was getting gas, he pointed to the pump and told me he didn't know what number it was... then he saw the red 00s and said, "Oh, it's #zero!"

The vet's office
From the minute we entered, he was all about wearing the stethoscope! Here he is listening to the cat's heart! How tender!?!
He took the stethoscope off just once, to look at some x-rays.
Very cool!

Daylen escorting Logan in the police car
A look at their future??
This reminded me of a paparazzi shot!
Let's hope this never really happens! Haha!

The diner
Serving me cake... with tongs, off the floor!
Oh, yummy!

Cooking some pizza- this area was packed!

My Little Engineer
Ok, so no 2 1/2 year old has a great attention span, but we found something that sure did keep Logan's attention... almost longer than mom could stand it!
We did not explore this area last time, so it was something new, but watch the progression of how much this kid loved to be making something! Gotta find these things and order some for the house!
It started with simply putting pieces together,
breaking a "sword" of sorts and starting over.

Then I showed him how you can put pieces in more than one direction. VERY focused.

"Oh, it's a star!"
And yes, he was singing "Twinkle, Twinkle" while holding this!

Then I sat and showed him how to make a simple square and he got going! I was sitting on the floor in the corner, so the picture is really close up.

I was asked to "get out of his way" so he could have some more room. Oh, I'm thinking we've been here 15 minutes by now!

And he just kept going and going!
I had to talk him into "moving on" to something else and carefully explain that we could do it again next time! He was IN LOVE with this activity!

A fun time was definitely had by all and we were very happy to share our day with Logan's buddy Daylen. I enjoyed the mommy time myself, though I did tell Kim that I think this is my final "on-my-feet-all-day" outing, until after baby!

Logan's thoughts
When he woke up from his nap this evening, I asked him what his favorite part of the trip was... he said, "Ummmm..... (long pause).... Daylen!" How sweet that he so enjoyed his playdate, even with all the excitement that surrounded the place!

Happy Birthday Jeff

Today, my husband turned 29! One more year in the 20s.
Logan and I went up to his work to surprise him with a balloon and a shake from ChickFilA. Good thing I got the large because I think Logan ate as much of it as daddy!
Sharing with two straws!

Helping daddy open his card. It read...
"Count your blessings daddy-
It could've been twins!"
Oh my, to think that there could be two of Logan...
boy would we be BUSY!

When Logan woke up this morning I explained that it was daddy's birthday. We called him at work and Logan wished him a happy birthday. Then I told him we were going to make daddy's favorite cookies and he proceeded to tell me that we needed...
party hats,
balloons,
candles,
and a birthday cake!
This kid and his lists.
Thus, the reason for the balloon being brought to Jeff's work. It actually took effort at the Party store to convince Logan that we didn't need party hats. I guess maybe we'll put some candles in the cookies tonight to appease our sweet boy!

Here he is helping me make the cookies. He did all the scooping himself which created quite a mess. I was actually very proud of myself... if you could have seen the sugar and oatmeal on my kitchen floor, you'd understand!

Jeff is such a great husband, dad and friend. He is a man of God that provides for and nurtures his family above and beyond. I am truly blessed to have him in my life and I look forward to all the birthdays we can continue to celebrate together for many years to come.

We love you honey!
Hope you enjoy your new golf clubs! A whole new set of irons which I'm sure you'll want to put to use as many times as possible between now and Ryan's arrival!

Father's Day Weekend

We spent Father's Day weekend in Brownwood this year, at a campsite on the lake, for the Grace family reunion. It was hot and the sleeping arrangements were not the most comfortable (hello, I'm almost 8 months pregnant!) but fun was had by all and it was nice to catch up with a lot of Jeff's family that we don't see often enough. Logan thought it was just wonderful, of course!

Learning early how to play washers

Taking a break and enjoying a juice box with Donovan

When no one wants to take you down to the lake quite yet...
play with the toys inside!

My precious boy!

Playing cards with Donovan

And some good lake time!
My two boys.

Swimming on the raft

Pulling Donovan

Donovan was a little fearful of putting his feet in water that he can't see through and honestly, who could blame him? Logan on the other hand, fearless!

My not-even-three-year-old asking to ride on a jet ski!

Daddy taking him for a ride.
He LOVED it!

Donovan got up the nerve to go,
as long as he didn't have to put his feet in the water.

When Daddy was tired, Aunt Kelley took over.

Since Logan despises the idea of a shower, we took a bath in the big utility sink, just like we did last year. Getting a little big for this?

Taking care of the teeth too!

Happy Father's Day!

Logan helping Daddy open his present and read his card.

Helping Papa too... more interested in the present this time.

Three Grace Boys.

Kelley and Tommy.

I got to see my dad for a very short time on Sunday night when we returned, but we will be celebrating our Father's Day next weekend with him when my brother comes to town. The guys will get their golf outing (wouldn't be Father's Day otherwise) and my mom and I will get some much needed pool time!

Almost 31 weeks

Yesterday we had another ultrasound. Everything we could have asked for has taken place and baby Ryan is doing just great! My placenta is no longer "low lying" so a regular delivery is now the way we'll go! I am VERY happy about that! Baby's brain, heart and measurements all look good... he's actually measuring almost 2 weeks ahead of schedule right now in some areas but the due date has not been changed or adjusted. Right now, it looks like he's got a very similar body to his big brother Logan... big head, big feet and a small waist. Long and skinny!

Here are some pics from the ultrasound... we just love the facial shots. Jeff thinks he looks like Logan in the nose and chin, though we're not real sure about where those chubby cheeks are coming from!

A little grin

A real smile

A grumpy face really showing off those cheeks!

His foot... already measuring 2 1/2 inches!

Full side view with knees tucked up to chest

Here is a belly pic from yesterday... 30 wks and 4 days!

Today we are painting the nursery... no more blue walls. We're going neutral this time around and sticking with colors and texture. Pics of the nursery will come later in July as the room is put together!

Waco Weekend

Last weekend we made a family trip to Waco for Jeff's cousin's wedding. It was Logan's first time to stay in a hotel, so there was a lot to be enjoyed and taken in. I was very thankful for continental breakfast each morning and an indoor pool... oh, and the fact that Jeff's parents were in the room right next to us... loved the help!
We were checked in for less than 30 minutes before Logan was in the water.

The hot tub was something new... and once he learned how to use the jets himself, it was great entertainment for him!

Have to love that the DVD player is not "installed" in our car. We were able to bring it in and used it during some very much needed break times.
Movie... check!
Juice cup... check!
Snack... check!
Mommy and daddy break... check, check!

He thought it was pretty cool to look out at the highway and watch the cars go by... also waiting on Grana and Papa to get back from decorating.

The girl cousins together at the rehearsal dinner.

On Saturday before the wedding, Daddy took Logan to Academy so I could take a nap. We needed a life jacket for the upcoming week at the lake and Jeff also bought him his first REAL golf club... not sure that the hotel room was the place for this toy, but oh well!

This is how he came in from the store... wearing the life jacket. Jeff said once he put it on him to try it on, he didn't want to take it off.

Cousin Katie is now an Early

Logan waiting in the foyer of the church

Sitting with Grana and Papa before the ceremony started.

Very thankful for the magic of goldfish...
at least he sat still for a little bit.

Just a few minutes later, he wanted to watch from over there.
Intently reading the program!

Logan and Mommy

Loving the punch at the reception!

Saying "Cheers" with everyone after the toasts!

He loved the bride! Though there was a little manipulation in this hug. He only understood one thing... he couldn't touch the cake until Cousin Katie cut it... so after this hug, he asked, "Are you going to cut your cake now?"

Had to see it happening... and it was hard to keep him out of the way of all the pics!

The only thing he knows about cake (besides how yummy it is) is that you are supposed to sing Happy Birthday to the person cutting it. Well, all the other kids are just watching and my son is singing Happy Birthday Katie! Quite funny if you ask me!

This was the first time I was able to meet Jeff's cousin Lori, who resides in California. Logan really took to her quickly.

And then the dancing! Logan was all about it!

He didn't even need anyone to dance with!
Everyone thought he was such a "ham" but I assure you, he had no idea how many people were watching him dance. He was so into it... kind of in his own world. There were strobe lights going with the music and that was his real focus!

Family photo

Dancing with Mommy

Ok, so the line dancing stuff had him a bit confused. Here he is trying to watch and figure out what everyone is doing.

Deciding to give it a try himself...

Really had the hang of it by this point!

Dancing with Cousin Andrea

In the middle of all the girls... they were chanting "Go Logan" and he thought that was pretty cool!

A little confusion. He's been taught "Hook 'Em" with the hand sign, but Aunt Kelley has been pushing the "Gig 'Em" thing... so here he has one on each hand!
When you add in that my brother teaches him "Go Pokes" I just think, poor kid!

With Andrea and Ben... they look good holding a kid, don't they?

Saying goodnight to Aunt Kelley

And this is how the night ended around 11 for the little man.
He sure did have fun though!

The wedding was beautiful and we had a great time with family. Very happy to finally meet some people and I know Logan had a great weekend! He went home Sunday with Grana and Papa for his visit to the lake and we will see him this weekend at the Grace family reunion.
