Palm Sunday

This past Sunday, we began our celebration of the great miracle of our Lord's resurrection. Bridge Kids (which I have blogged about before) is such an awesome program at our church for our kiddos. This year, they emphasized that though the story is sad, it is also the best story every told... and though these kids are young, it is still important to keep the story real and share with them what Jesus went through for us. It is amazing to me how much Logan is absorbing this Easter story and how passionate he is about the tomb being EMPTY when Jesus rose from the dead. He is understanding how Judas betrayed Jesus and how when Jesus asked for water, he instead received something quite "gross" (vinegar), and how painful a nail in your hands and feet and a crown of thorns on your head would be.

Now, please understand, we don't only depend on Bridge Kids to support our kiddo and teach him this story, but it sure has been quite a help to keep the conversation going at home. We love the coordinators and our Children's Minister so much and are very thankful for the church home we have been blessed with.

Here are pictures from their performance on Sunday.

First they did their memory verse and sang some songs.
I just love this picture of how excited he gets when singing,
"Ha, ha, hallelujah!"

and "He, He, He saved me!"

Logan was part of the resurrection program.
This is him opening the 7th egg, which was empty, representing the empty tomb and Jesus' resurrection!
This is the video of Logan opening his egg

Thanks to my brother's awesome birthday present, I can now create really great home movies. I say "can" meaning that it is now possible to create great ones. This is my first and I'm still trying to figure out the program, so it's nothing special. But, nevertheless, check out the video of the whole Bridge Kids Performance...

Some cool things to note:
All the kids that opened eggs range from 3-6
Scripture readers were 1st-4th graders and used their own Bibles
The one kid (a favorite of mine) that memorized his scripture!
How some of the kids are a little quiet and hard to hear, but you better believe it, my kid is never quiet!

We were so blessed to have my parents join us for church on this Palm Sunday. Afterward, we hit up our usual food spot and enjoyed a great lunch at Sweet Tomatoes. Ryan didn't make it through lunch, he was a tired boy!

(now that Ryan's wearing big boy clothes, the boys can match!)

When Jeff put Logan to bed that night, he prayed,
"Thank you God for letting Grandma and Grandpa come to church with me and for them taking us to eat at Sweet Tomatoes."
