Yes, that's right... my husband knows romance!
I am one of those lucky girls whose husband does great things without being asked!
And now, I'm going to brag on him a little!
Friday, we celebrated 5 years of wedded bliss!
A couple of weeks ago, Jeff called me from work to tell me he had found some options for our anniversary getaway. At the time, I guess I didn't want to talk about it or make decisions, so I just asked him if he could plan it and just know that I'd be happy with whatever.
Friday began with breakfast in bed, with a typed itinerary on my breakfast tray.
Our day included:
-Dropping boys off at my parents house :-)
-Hotel check in (The Magnolia** in downtown, overlooking Minute Maid Park)
-Lunch at Cafe Express
-COUPLE'S MASSAGES (1 hour!) at

-Laying out on the rooftop pool
-Having these arrive at our hotel room! (our wedding flower!)

This poem was one of FIVE that I received that day,
all written by Jeff himself! Bringing me back to our dating days when I got poems by email in my classroom almost daily! (Like I said, he knows romance!)
-Reservations at McCormick and Schmicks
I totally recommend it to anyone that is single!
I know that it has been evident in our culture that being married is a difficult thing, but I wouldn't trade it for anything! Maybe it's just that my husband is a very easy man to be married to... he does a good job dealing with me!!! We've done a lot in 5 short years and I look forward to all that God has in store for us in the many more years I plan on spending with this man!
Thank you honey for a fabulous anniversary weekend! The day you planned was just what I needed and it was so obvious that a lot of your time, energy and attention to detail were put into making this getaway so wonderful!

And, a definite thanks to my parents for keeping the boys for our chance to get away and celebrate together. That free babysitting was better than any gift money can buy, because knowing they were with family, we were truly able to relax. Mom and dad, you rock!!!

This was taken before we headed away Friday... the new pot filled with plants was my parents gift to us! It looks awesome in the front of our house... now I just have to keep those things alive! I think being married is easier than that will be, but I'll keep you posted! :-)
**Totally recommend The Magnolia for your next downtown Houston stay.
Free drinks from 5:30-6:30 every evening.
Free cookies and milk every night.
Free GREAT buffet breakfast every morning. Seriously, I have stayed at hotels that try to charge $16 for that kind of buffet!
Free car shuttle to anywhere in the downtown area, AND they pick you up!
And, SO reasonably priced in comparison to other big name hotels that don't offer any of these free things! It was delightful!
