My SEVEN Year-Old

This sweet boy- who's got the best dance moves and totally comes out of his shell on a dance floor-
has turned SEVEN!

I cannot believe how fun these last 7 years have been and how absolutely blessed I feel that God chose ME to be his mom! He's so smart, very inquisitive and this age is bringing such a level of maturity I've just been very surprised by. He is growing into such an independent little man that can do so much without my help. Don't get me wrong- he's still my "baby" and loves to snuggle when given the chance... but the fact that he can get himself up in the morning, take a shower and get dressed and ready for school (with only help on the hair) is such a big step from the mornings of getting ready for school last year! First grade- how did this happen?

Things he LOVES:
-His brothers
-Root beer in a bottle
-That Grandma and Grandpa moved by us
-Clothes- he actually enjoys getting new clothes and trying things on
-His DS
-Swimming- he wants to join the swim team next summer!
-Other kids- he knows no stranger and will play with anyone
-Roller coasters- Six Flags from open to close this summer!
-School- ever met a kid that gets upset when there's a 3-day weekend?

Things he learned this year:
-The rules of football- attended his first live game and was very into the details
-Baseball- he had a great first season and requested to play fall ball now
-Spanish- he's learning SO much, SO fast in this dual language program
-How to tie his shoes
-He's learning SO much about God's love for him
-That water parks are fun and roller coasters are FABULOUS!

Dear Logan,
You are my treasure, sweet boy! I love your sensitive and tender heart and I know God is going to use it to do great things as you grow! You love so freely and that is a trait that so many adults need to learn- I pray you always stay that way. You LOVE babies and always want to take time at church or the store to say hi to all of them!
You bring SO much joy to our house and I'm really enjoying watching you grow and learn in everything you do. Baseball seems to be your sport of choice right now and we just love to watch you play! You're really enjoying golf too and have asked to do martial arts, so we'll see where life takes you in your activities this next year. Thank you for always being so quick to apologize and see when you have wronged someone... and for also being so quick to forgive when one of us hurts your feelings. I think my favorite thing about you this year is how you've grown a heart for Jesus and love to sing in worship and pray with all of us each night. Your love of reading is carrying over into reading your own Bible when you go to bed at night and that would make any mommy proud. Your love of the Lord reminds me so much of your daddy and I know you'll learn one day how much of a compliment that is. May you always know how loved you are and the special place you hold in my heart- you changed my world forever when you came along 7 years ago and I couldn't have imagined how much fun motherhood would be!

Love you!
Mom
