FIVE- The Party Weekend!

Logan's birthday fell on the same day as his party this year! A beautiful day that was just right for a pool party! We won't mention how cold the water was because the kids really didn't seem to mind (at least most of them didn't!).

The day started off at home opening just a few gifts
A Batman Mask... for the newly started dress-up box!

New bathing suit just for the party!
Hope it still fits next summer!

Super duper new CD player from Grana and Papa!

Aunt Kelley got him brand new finger paints and easel paper!
Thank you from mommy too!

Then on to the party...
Thanks again to Andrew for all these bright, beautiful photos!

The largest pinata I have ever seen! BIG HIT!!

The scene of the party... such a great pool!
(With two summer birthday boys,
I think it's safe to say we'll be using this place again!)

Cookie cakes made by mommy!

Splash fun!

Ryan may have been one that thought the water was too cold.

Or he just enjoyed the Cheetos too much!

Lunch was a big hit with Logan... all his favorites!
Batman shaped PB&Js, Frozen Gogurts, Cheetos, Doritos and Capri Suns!

Aunt Kelley and Logan

This is Ryan's response to my friend Amber showing up. He ABSOLUTELY LOVES her... they just have this special connection and whenever he sees her somewhere or knows that we are going to be seeing her he just lights up with pure joy and excitement! He bee-lined it from the pool all the way to the entrance when he saw her coming! Made her day for sure!

Hugging Amber and Adam

Ready for Cookie Cake (Logan's request!)

Let me just say here, cookie cake will be our birthday party cakes from now on! It was SO easy to make and decorate, CHEAP, and none of it was wasted. Logan doesn't really eat cake and usually just eats the icing off the top to then throw away the rest! It was super easy to cut and serve and every child ate their entire piece! This momma is SOLD on going this route for future birthdays!!! And, when I priced them from the cookie places, I about died! I was able to make and decorate TWO cakes (to make sure we had plenty) for a total of $14! That's a deal that this momma likes!!!

Pinata Time!

All the kids in line... the girl in the striped suit (Gracie) got to bust it open and thankfully it held up for all the little ones to get a turn! :-)

With Uncle Mike and Lauren before they left

He just loves his Uncle!!!

So children could enjoy as much swimming fun as possible, we chose to bring all the presents home and give Logan time to open them while his brothers took their naps!

With Aunt Rachel and Uncle Joel! This Spiderman has been the most played with toy over the last three weeks! It even survived being put in Grandpa's pool, in which it stopped talking and then suddenly, after much prayer by Logan I'm sure, it started talking again! Logan loves it!

A super cool handmade gift from some dear friends... A Super Hero Fort Kit. All a Superhero needs for fort-making and survival. We have found that the bunk beds are a great place to put this to use! Thanks so much to the Willys and Hills!

The flashlights were the biggest hit I think!

Talking to Great Grandma in New York! Missing her!!!

This is how he chose his Halloween costume. I thought it was just going to be dress up clothes and he jumped on the idea! My little Captain Hook!

Ryan will be wearing this Peter Pan outfit for Halloween!

And after dinner, like it was magic, the ice cream man came by! What a great way to wrap up his special day!

Belated Gifts!
One of the best things about having a birthday is the presents that come after the fact, when you think all the fun is over and you suddenly get little packages along the way!

Aunt Maureen sent her package of goodies!

Ever seen a kid SO happy to receive books?!?!

Money's not too bad either! :-)

And then came the shoes that shipped from Uncle Mike!
This year, Pumas no more! Per Logan's request, he wanted Sambas!

And our sweet friend Kyndall missed the party, but how cool is this little Model Magic thing? It only took us over 1.5 hours, but he LOVED this activity!

This year we added a new touch to giving thanks for all the generous and loving people in Logan's life. As our handwriting assignment every day, we decided this was the year that Logan could start writing his own thank yous! Thanks to Andrew again for his awesome creation, taking my idea and exceeding what I imagined!

I'll admit, this method of saying thanks has taken us longer to get them all written and distributed, but it's a great lesson I think, for HIM to be the one saying thanks! And, there has been no argument from his side while he's keeping track as he writes at least 4 each day! :-)

Thank you to all our friends and family that made it their priority to spend this special day with our big boy! I'm so proud of the little man he's turning into and feel very blessed to be able to share him with all of you!
